Description
This honey garlic glazed salmon is golden and crispy on the outside with a sticky-sweet glaze that caramelizes beautifully in the pan. Ready in just 20 minutes, it is healthy, impressive, and absolutely packed with flavor.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each), skin-on
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- Juice of ½ lemon
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season the salmon: Pat fillets completely dry with paper towels — this is key for a crispy sear. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- Sear skin-side down: Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add salmon skin-side down. Press gently with a spatula to ensure full contact. Cook undisturbed for 4 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden.
- Flip and cook: Flip fillets and cook 2 more minutes on the flesh side.
- Make the glaze: Push salmon to one side of the pan. Add butter and garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice. Let the glaze bubble and thicken for 1 minute.
- Baste: Spoon the glaze over the salmon fillets continuously for 1–2 minutes. The glaze should coat each fillet thickly and caramelize slightly.
- Serve immediately over steamed rice or roasted vegetables, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
- Do not skip patting dry — moisture prevents the sear and causes sticking.
- Salmon doneness: Internal temp of 125–130°F for medium, 145°F for fully cooked.
- Storage: Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in a pan with a splash of water.
- Make it spicy: Add a teaspoon of sriracha or red pepper flakes to the glaze.
- Swap the protein: This glaze works beautifully on chicken thighs, shrimp, or tofu.
